Jeff Spratt was born in the western Pennsylvania town of New Brighton and raised as an avid Steeler fan. After graduating from Hiram College in Ohio, he spent time in India studying parisitology. In 1986, Jeff completed his Master’s degree in Biology from Dusquesne and travelled to the Georgia coast to work for the Wildlife Conservation Society on private St. Catherines Island. Over the next 16 years, Jeff continues working on the Island with a wide variety of endangered species, specializing in rare tortoises. When Kelly finally returned from her travels, they married and moved to Darien. Jeff now works for The Nature Conservancy as a conservation biologist as part of TNC’s Altamaha Bioreserve.
