Our Breakfast
Your room rate includes a full morning breakfast, beginning with freshly ground coffee, a selection of teas, fruit juices, and fresh fruit. Our set menus include a combination of homemade waffles, southern biscuits, omelets, baked eggs, Canadian ham, sausage, or bacon. In season, we often serve our famous Darien Shrimp Delight as well! This is very similar to eggs benedict, but we replace the English muffins with a fresh shrimp cake coated in panko bread crumbs. This is then topped with a poached egg and homemade hollandaise!
Open Gates is available to host everything from your wedding to your reception. We also do bridal and baby showers, luncheons, business meetings as well as any other event you might be having. We have wedding packages available to suit your every need. Whether it be an elopement or a lavish event with 100 guests. Our beautifully landscaped grounds make the perfect backdrop for your occasion. Please contact us to set up a visit to view our venue and small town.
While enjoying your stay at the Inn, there are many activities to do in the area. We are happy to arrange any activities listed on this page or suggest other options. We're conveniently located near Sapelo Island (one of Georgia's most distinctive barrier islands), historic Fort King George, the oldest European fort in Georgia, and Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation, a restored 19th-century rice plantation. Open Gates is also very accessible to many wildlife viewing areas including the Altamaha Wildlife Management Area, Okefenokee Swamp, and Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge.
